Murder at Outlaw Cabin

I’ve switched to editing for this book. I wrote the first 3 Acts, leaving the final act to be written. My strategy with this book is to write the story up until the final confrontation. I’m purposely leaving four or five suspects. Each of the suspects might be the one or not. I could make two of them into the murderers. All of them look guilty, and I’m going to choose which one or two I want to be the murderer(s) as I enter the final Act. Since I don’t know, you won’t know. We’ll see how this comes out.

The covers are in the process of being created right now. So, they’ll be ready pretty soon. I’ll be ready to publish Murder at Outlaw Cabin in a couple of weeks. Then, I can move on to The Ghost Falls Killings. I already have a bunch of ideas for that book. All I need to do is finish the outline, and I’ll be ready to start the rough draft.

Before I advertise and start selling these books, I have to set up a mailing list and a business Facebook page. I don’t have a free giveaway to attract people to sign up for the list, but I can add that later. Obviously, when the list comes out, if you sign up for the mailing list and I drop a free book, I’ll announce the freebie and add a link to those already on the list so they can get it as well. One of the reasons I want to wait to do the freebie is that I want to build up a story that I can draw from. In this case, I might do a free Q-mystery book, or I might even do something completely different. As you can tell by my indecision, I haven’t made up my mind on that yet. Also, I have a backlog of materials that I’ve promised to write, and I don’t want to add to that.

After I wrap this book up and publish it, I still have two more books to complete for the planned 5-book series. This will be a completed series unless they make a profit. If things go well, I plan to extend this series to a 10-book series. After that, I’ll look at a spin-off series or maybe an entirely new series. I might segue into something less cozy but not dark. If these books do well, I can continue writing them, one book per month.

Gotta keep writing…
