Tomorrow will be the first Read-Out-Loud that we’ll perform on The Deadly Design. Once that is completed, my wife and I will discuss how to wrap up the story. Then I’ll write the last Act. That means that next weekend will be the final ROL, followed by an edit, and it’ll be off to the editor. Finally, the book will be published within the first or second week of May.
Once this book is wrapped up, I’ll have a set of 5 books available. I’ll evaluate how they perform with Ads and determine if I want to write more or take a different direction. It takes a few weeks to collect data, and as I mentioned in earlier posts, I’ll be writing a Daphne Blazefire book under my name (Frank DeCaire). That book is titled Shadows of the Bloodline. That is the last book that I’m committed to write, which means that I’m itching to commit to more! Well, technically, I’m writing a 2nd release of Novis Terminal on the sly. I haven’t made any official announcement that it’ll happen, but I’ve already written 26,000 words, so it’s a third done. Oh, and the story is excellent. Probably the best Daphne book so far. Way better than the first revision. If that book turns out to be successful… well, I’ll have to pour some time into a second edition for the remaining four original books of the series. That’ll be a lot of work, but could pay off. Otherwise, I suspect that Novis Terminal will be flying off the shelves (metaphorically speaking), and then the read-through will drop off at the second book.
If the Q Mystery series is successful, then I’ll add one book at a time until there are ten in the series. I have this gut feeling that I’ll be alternating between Q Mysteries and Daphne Blazefire books. Ah, what a great problem to have.
